How Call Screening ("Press 1") Works

Jill's Office has a call screening feature clients can opt-into to help screen sales calls and increase call handling efficiency.

How It Works
When the "Press 1" option is enabled in the Jill’s Office client’s account,

  • Callers hear the following greeting: “Thank you for calling. Please press 1 to connect with our receptionist.”

  • If the caller presses 1, the call is transferred to your Jill receptionists. If no action is taken, the call is disconnected, and a callback is created.

Why You May Want to Opt Into It:

  1. Helps with faster answer times by filtering out sales and robocalls, allowing the Jill receptionists to manage genuine inquiries as the priority.

  2. Presents a well-organized, professional image to your callers.

  3. Helps reduces unnecessary spam calls, saving you minutes on your bill!

Limitations to the New Call Screening Feature


The Press 1 feature is a no-brainer for most companies, however there are some situations where we don't recommend opting into it.

We don't recommend you opting into our new Press 1 call screening if you use the following:

  • Automated Lead Platforms (e.g., Angi Leads) being forwarded to Jill's Office:

    • Automated lead calls may not interact well with call trees. These systems typically expect to reach a human directly and may not recognize or respond to "Press 1" prompts.

  • Existing Call Trees (IVR Systems)

    • If you already have a call tree on your business line before it gets forwarded to us, it can cause confusion to callers to have to press 1 again when the call gets forwarded to your Jill's Office line.

  • Google Voice:

    • Google Voice isn't compatible with the call screening feature and prevents calls from successfully forwarding into our system.

If any of the above applies to you, we don't recommend you opt into the new call screening.
